Elani

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Elani, a beautiful Elani, has been waiting for her own family for almost her entire life. She has been living in the animal shelter since she was about three months old. It is all the more impressive how friendly, loving and cheerful she is towards her humans. Elani has kept her big heart and enjoys every attention she receives. She loves petting and seeks the company of people she trusts. Elani is a cheerful and playful dog who quickly wins hearts with her friendly nature. She enjoys time together, is open and enjoys when people engage with her. She also gets along very well with other dogs and behaves socially and uncomplicatedly in coexistence. Therefore, she could also imagine a home with a confident first dog. One small challenge Elani still has: she currently does not accept a leash. Since she has been living in the animal shelter since she was three months old, many things of everyday life are still foreign to her. Life outside the animal shelter is a big adventure for her full of new impressions that she has never experienced before. However, with loving accompaniment, patience and understanding, she will have the chance to catch up on all these experiences at her own pace. Therefore, Elani is looking for patient and understanding people who enjoy showing her the world and teaching her everything that belongs to a happy family dog. Attending a good dog school will certainly be a great support. With her friendly, people-oriented nature, Elani brings the best prerequisites to be an attentive student and make many progress with her people. Whoever gives Elani the chance of a home of her own gets a loving, affectionate and loyal companion by her side. She needs people who give her time to discover the world and develop trust in new situations. With patience, understanding and a lot of love, Elani will show what a wonderful dog is in her and enchant her family every day anew.

About Elani

What life with Elani looks like

Elani is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Elani, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Elani?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Elani on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Elani if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Elani already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Elani isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Elani and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
