Elia sucht vertrauensvolle Zweibeiner

Female · Senior · 12 years

Birth year: October 2013 My name is Elia. I am female, spayed, and born in 2013. I have been waiting for a new home since January 2014. This is what my caretakers say about me: Elia was adopted from a semi-feral cat population, where cat experts are sought for adoption. Elia needed a long time to get used to being here. Initially, she would immediately run away whenever people entered the adoption room. Now she watches us closely, and comes close to us during feeding times. The interested person must also take this adjustment period into account in the new home. Elia definitely does not want to be pressured, we recommend hand-feeding and practicing how pleasant it can be to cuddle with a human hand. Since she has already gone through such training here and then also liked the first cuddling moments, it's simply a matter of trust and patience that one must bring when adopting. Elia gets along very well with other animals, and she can easily go as a companion cat. Who wants to give Elia the chance to finally gain her trust in her own home, which she will then certainly only give to her new owner...

About Elia sucht vertrauensvolle Zweibeiner

What life with Elia sucht vertrauensvolle Zweibeiner looks like

Elia sucht vertrauensvolle Zweibeiner is a medium-sized senior cat waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

Frequently asked

Adopting Elia sucht vertrauensvolle Zweibeiner, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Elia sucht vertrauensvolle Zweibeiner?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Elia sucht vertrauensvolle Zweibeiner on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Elia sucht vertrauensvolle Zweibeiner if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Elia sucht vertrauensvolle Zweibeiner already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Elia sucht vertrauensvolle Zweibeiner isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Elia sucht vertrauensvolle Zweibeiner and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
