Ella

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Young · 2 years

PLEASE NOTE, ELLA IS LOCATED AT THE BRIDLINGTON RSPCA. Ella has been advertised for a while now, but sadly, she has gained no interest or applications, not one. Sadly, Ella hasn’t had the easiest start in life. She came into our care with poor dental health due to a lack of care in her past and heavily pregnant. But after Ella had finished being an amazing mum, she received the treatments she needed! She is now fully recovered, happy, and ready to start the next chapter of her life. Ella has a kind and affectionate nature. Once she gets to know you, she enjoys gentle head scratches, quiet company, and spending time with the people she trusts. However, Like many cats, she also values her own space and will politely let you know when she’s had enough fuss. Ella is looking for a home with: No other cats or dogs - Non-negotiable. Children aged 13 years and over Medical Information - Fully vaccinated - Neutered - FIV/FELV tested (negative) - Up to date with flea and worm treatments - Microchipped - Full veterinary health check completed - Dental treatment completed

About Ella

What life with Ella looks like

Ella is a young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at RSPCA York Home in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA York Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA York Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA York Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
