At around four months old and weighing about 5 kg, she should have been discovering the world from the safety of a home. Instead, she was found beside a road in the middle of a wooded area, with no houses nearby. She was there with her mum, Millie. Both were very thin, obviously hungry and trying to survive in a place where there was almost nobody around to help them. The woman who found them stopped and gave them water and what food she had with her. She described both Millie and Ellie as tame and very cuddly, which somehow makes their situation even harder to imagine. These were not wild dogs avoiding people. They were friendly dogs who clearly needed people.
