Honden ter adoptie

Romanian Street Dog Mix · Female · Young · 1 year

This sweet girl has been named Elsa. Elsa's estimated date of birth is July 2024. She will grow up to be a small to medium sized dog. Elsa was found on the street together with her mother and her sisters Ella, Emma and Erin in the Romanian village Sanmartin. Of course, they were not left to their own fate and have been taken in by the animal shelter of Sos Dogs Romania. They are all now in the Netherlands. Elsa's sisters and mother have found a nice little house. Only Elsa is still looking for her forever home! Elsa is a great girl. She is kind, cheerful, happy, social and playful. She gets along very well with other dogs and likes to play with them. She often gives the adult dogs a little kiss 🙂 Elsa thinks we are all lovely, she loves cuddles and also gives kisses. She is cautious towards strangers and direct contact can be stressful. Her future owners should take into account that Elsa still needs to learn some things. Also, it will take time before Elsa feels safe in a new situation, so patient owners are what this lovely girl needs. Elsa is in the Netherlands. If you are interested in Elsa, we would gladly receive a message with your living and work situation and any experience you have with dogs. If after an intake conversation it turns out you are a match, an appointment can be made to pick her up from our small shelter in Didam. Elsa is The adoption fee is €390. This is a contribution towards the costs such as spaying/neutering, the trip to the Netherlands, European pet passport, chip and vaccinations. Dit lieve meisje heeft de naam Elsa gekregen. Elsa haar geschatte geboortedatum is juli 2024. Elsa is in Nederland. About Honden ter adoptie

What life with Honden ter adoptie looks like

Honden ter adoptie is a small young adult romanian street dog mix dog waiting at SOS Dogs Nederland in NN Didam.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Needs patient owners as she's cautious with strangers and still learning. Requires time to feel secure in new situations.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Honden ter adoptie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Honden ter adoptie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS Dogs Nederland handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Honden ter adoptie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Honden ter adoptie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS Dogs Nederland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Honden ter adoptie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Honden ter adoptie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS Dogs Nederland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Honden ter adoptie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
