Elva, Enya, Elara, Eira

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten

All cats—Elva, Enya, Elara, and Eira—Printed and Published: July 31, 2026 Breed: European Domestic Cat (EKH) Age: approx. 2024 Gender: female Spayed: yes Color: gray-tabby-white Housing: apartment or rural outdoor access The four shy cat ladies are looking for empathetic homes. They were privately surrendered to us because no one could care for them anymore and their living conditions were not ideal. They will be given away in pairs, as they always lie together and provide each other with comfort. So far, they’ve only known indoor living. At our shelter, they emerge from their hiding places when the facility becomes quiet and settles into evening tranquility. They love going out onto the balcony and exploring everything. We’re seeking people who have experience with shy cats and can devote plenty of time and patience to these four treasures. Although they’ve never met other, unfamiliar feline companions, they are social. They’re extremely cautious yet curious and not aggressive. If you already have nice, sociable feline companions at home, this could help them learn how to approach humans. Often, having a cuddly cat at home breaks the ice, allowing the shy ones to observe how their new friend interacts with people. It’s important to first give the animals a space where they can feel safe and settle in—don’t pressure them; just let them be. Provide plenty of hiding places. Stay in the room yourself and simply talk softly—even if you can’t see them—so they can get used to the sound of your voice. Turn on the radio quietly to break the silence. Offer delicious food, and when you make eye contact, give them very special treats. We’d be happy to advise you if you’re not yet fully familiar with shy cats, and we’ll always be there for you whenever you need support. The new home should be in a calm environment—no children, dogs, or frequent visitors. If the new home is located in a very rural area, it would be wonderful if, after building trust and settling in, they could gradually…

Alle Katzen Elva, Enya, Elara, Eira Drucken Veröffentlicht: 31. Juli 2026 Rasse: EKH Alter: ca. 2024 Geschlecht: weiblich Kastriert: ja Farbe: grau-getigert-weiß Haltung: Wohnung oder ländl. Freigang Die vier (teils) scheuen Katzendamen suchen einfühlsame Zuhause. Leckeres Futter anbieten

About Elva, Enya, Elara, Eira

What life with Elva, Enya, Elara, Eira looks like

Elva, Enya, Elara, Eira is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Alsfeld in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Elva, Enya, Elara, Eira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Elva, Enya, Elara, Eira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Alsfeld handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Elva, Enya, Elara, Eira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Elva, Enya, Elara, Eira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Alsfeld will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Elva, Enya, Elara, Eira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Elva, Enya, Elara, Eira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Alsfeld early rather than rehoming privately; they know Elva, Enya, Elara, Eira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
