adoption requirements adoption process Request this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Request this cat now! Elysia and Marcel are siblings and a closely connected team. The two were found together on a parking lot near their foster home's apartment and brought to safety. Since then, they show every day how much love and trust is in them. Elysia is a particularly warm and affectionate cat. She loves being held on the arm and actively seeks the company of her humans. She enjoys cuddles and attention to the fullest. At the same time, she is playful and loves to play with other cats. Marcel is also a very loving and gentle tomcat. He is extremely people-oriented and feels most comfortable when he is close to his humans. He especially likes to lie in the arms of his primary caregiver and enjoy the time together. In addition to his cuddly nature, he is also playful and active. Both get along very well with other cats. They are already familiar with small dogs and get along well with them. Because of their very close bond, Elysia and Marcel will only be rehomed together. Secure outdoor access is possible if the environment is quiet and safe. Both are in good health. Marcel has only a very small umbilical hernia, which is considered harmless by the veterinarian and does not require treatment. Elysia and Marcel tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Both are neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas and naturally come with their EU pet passports. After a positive placement, those who give Elysia and Marcel a home will receive two deeply loving, cuddly, and cheerful cats who prefer to share their happiness with each other and with their humans. A heartfelt thank you to godmother Stephanie L., who accompanied Elysia, as well as to godfather Petra L., who supported Marcel and thus made their shared future possible. Status: 15.03.

Stand: 15.03.2026

About Elysia & Marcel

What life with Elysia & Marcel looks like

Elysia & Marcel is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Elysia & Marcel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Elysia & Marcel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Elysia & Marcel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Elysia & Marcel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Elysia & Marcel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Elysia & Marcel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Elysia & Marcel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
