Emilia

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Mixed breed Emilia is looking for her happiness! What the adorable little Emilia has already been through. Together with her siblings, she was left in a sack in front of our Bulgarian partner animal shelter. Fortunately, the four puppies were found in time. Now Emilia is ready to start her journey to a loving home or a foster placement. The little mouse shows herself as typically playful. She loves to play with her siblings and curiously explores the world. In contact with other dogs, she is social. She also meets people friendly and openly - she gladly collects cuddles. Of course, a puppy brings not only joy but also responsibility. Emilia's future humans should be ready to teach her with patience, love and understanding everything she needs for a happy dog life. Housebreaking, walking on a leash, riding in a car, being alone and dealing with everyday life's stimuli. Besides cuddles and love, Emilia also needs age-appropriate physical and mental stimulation. She wants to discover the world, learn, be supported and grow together with her humans. With positive reinforcement, time and a dose of humor, she will develop into a loyal companion. A companion who simply wants to arrive and be loved. Who will give the little Emilia a chance at a happy life? Adopting an animal protection dog always means taking on a special responsibility. It can also become a challenge. The dogs come with a backpack of past experiences or unlearned situations. They need time to adjust to their new life. If you have a serious interest in adopting Emilia, please contact the responsible adoption officer of SALVA Dog Help. We would also be very happy about the provision of a foster placement. Here is Emilia's video.

About Emilia

What life with Emilia looks like

Emilia is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Emilia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Emilia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Emilia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Emilia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Emilia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Emilia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Emilia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
