Adopt Emilio (m)

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

On foster home in 92348 Berg. Little Emilio is on a search for a cozy bed. The delicate pup was born on October 10, 2025, at 38 cm and 8 kg. The vet estimated him to be around 1 year old, so he is likely fully grown. Emilio came to us on May 16, 2026, from the public shelter in Romania. He had a bit of luck in his misfortune. A foster home became available at the last minute, and he got a name and was able to leave quickly, thus avoiding the transition from the puppy section to the adult dog area. Not much is known about his unpleasant past. He was brought to the shelter with other dogs by the dog catchers a few months ago. His physical condition was unimaginable. Due to a severe flea infestation, he had almost no fur left. Additionally, he was very fearful. The wonderful team in Botosani took excellent care of him. He was fattened up, his fur grew back, and now it's our responsibility to ensure he finds a dream home. In the house, Emilio has thawed out. He is curious and comes to see where the people stay. When you crouch down and beckon him, he comes wagging his tail and wiggling his bottom joyfully to get cuddles. In the garden, he is still a bit unsure, but one shouldn't expect too much at the beginning. Walking and doing his business outside still need to be learned. Of course, this will take his time. One must also consider that like all young dogs, he needs time, patience, and attention, and that being left alone must be built up gradually. We wish for Emilio a quieter home without small children so he can arrive without stress. A rural home with a garden and a confident second dog who gives him security would definitely be a jackpot for him. Emilio likes dogs and cats, travels in the car without a problem, loves cuddles… everything is top. Now, all that's missing is his own quiet home, and everything would be perfect. Who would like to visit the little guy at his foster home in 92348 Berg and fall in love? Emilio can move to his new home with a vet check, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and dewormed. He has also passed the negative Snap 4D test. Contact: or here on FB All our dogs travel with official trace papers and of course, we also have Paragraph 11.

About Emilio (m)

What life with Emilio (m) looks like

Emilio (m) is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Emilio (m), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Emilio (m)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Emilio (m) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Emilio (m) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Emilio (m) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Emilio (m) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Emilio (m) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
