adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Emily has found her home! Her story: Suddenly there she was, the little, delicate Emily. For weeks she was chased by people, until one day a lady took pity and took Emily in. The vet found a strong flea infestation and the little mouse was completely starved. Now she has already recovered quite well. With a bit of fur care and good food, Emily will surely become a beautiful little mouse. We don't know Emily's backstory. We don't know where she came from, and she can't tell us. One can see from the little female dog that she has not been pampered by life so far. She doesn't understand the world anymore and longs for a warm place, good food, and lots of love. That's why we hope very much that Emily gets a second chance, finds a home where she will be treated with respect and be able to live a beautiful dog life. Emily is about 5 years old and weighs only 5-6 kg. She is small and delicate, and at about 30-35 cm, she likely has a Chihuahua mix. Emily is quiet, modest, and initially reserved towards strangers. She still has faith in people and can be stroked. If you take care of her, take some time for her, and gently caress her, her eyes will start to sparkle again and she will look happy. Emily also likes other dogs very much, as long as they don't handle her too wild and stormy. For Emily, we are looking for adopters with a particularly big heart and a lot of confidence who are willing to take on the task of rebuilding trust in a small female dog. With patience and care, you will again make a smile appear on her face. We can imagine the pretty, little female dog in a quiet home. The most important thing is that Emily's adopters can offer her an appropriate life with relaxed walks and enough contact with fellow animals. Who has a spot in their home and heart for the sweet Emily? Even a foster home would be very helpful for her. Emily can be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas with an EU pet passport to travel to her new home. She will be traveling to a positive We thank the name sponsor Ines for perhaps giving Emily her first name and thus her own identity. As of: 03.06.

Stand: 03.06.2024

About Emily

What life with Emily looks like

Emily is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Emily, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Emily?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Emily on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Emily if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Emily already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Emily isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Emily and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
