adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Sonnenschein Enka has been waiting for a warm dog bed in a loving family for far too long. Enka was found between two villages in the wilderness – all alone, most likely abandoned. Fortunately, a girl discovered the loving female dog and brought her to safety. By now, Enka has been neutered. Enka is approximately 5.5 years old and about 52 cm tall. Enka shows herself to be a very friendly and cheerful balanced and people-oriented female dog. She loves cuddles, enjoys closeness and affection without ever being pushy. She also gets along well with other dogs and cats. She is adaptable, attentive, and shows every day that she simply wants to belong. It is likely that a pointer mix is hidden in Enka, which can be seen in her attentive, sensitive, and eager-to-learn nature. She observes closely, reacts sensitively to moods, and always wants to please her person. Now, all that is missing for the gentle female dog is a home where she can experience love, security, and safety – with people who give her time to adjust and also see small mishaps during the adjustment phase with patience. When Enka has gained trust, she will develop into a loyal, sensitive companion who unconditionally loves her people. Enka travels microchipped, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with an EU pet passport. Stand: 01.02. If you want to show Enka that life has more to offer, she deserves a chance to finally belong. A big thank you to Claudia! You gave Enka her name and thus not only an identity but also the chance at a new life. Many thanks to Annette W.! You support Enka with a monthly sponsorship! Stand: 01.02.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Annette W.! Du unterstützt Enka mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft! Stand: 01.02.2026 Weitere Informationen zum Thema Vorkontrolle und Schutzgebühr

About Enka

What life with Enka looks like

Enka is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Enka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Enka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Enka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Enka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Enka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Enka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Enka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
