Enya &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female

The pretty husky hound Enya was found stray and brought to the killing station by the dog catcher. In fact, a owner did come forward, but when he heard that he would have to pay for the costs of chipping and vaccinating the female dog, he refused and gave her up. Since no one wanted to adopt the husky lady, Ancsa took her in. At the animal shelter, Enya shows herself to be a true treasure: friendly, trusting, and in search of closeness. In the exercise yard, she stands on two legs at the fence as soon as a person approaches, just to be seen and to catch a few cuddles. During our visit to the animal shelter, Enya ran happily from person to person, even sat on the lap of the photographer who was sitting on the ground and showed no reserve towards us, the unfamiliar visitors. She actively seeks contact, enjoys every bit of attention, and opens up to strangers immediately. She has not yet been tested with other dogs due to her quarantine period, but she was open, interested, and friendly towards the dogs in the neighboring exercise yards or those that adjoin the free run. On the leash, Enya runs very nicely. She was tested negative for heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Anaplasmosis, and Borreliosis using the Idexx Snap 4dx test. For Enya, we wish for active people who can give her both sufficient exercise and plenty of cuddle time. She is a female dog who wants to be seen—and she deserves a faithful companion by her side.

About Enya &#8211

What life with Enya &#8211 looks like

Enya &#8211 is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fellfreunde e.V. in Solingen.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Enya &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Enya &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fellfreunde e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Enya &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Enya &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fellfreunde e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Enya &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Enya &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fellfreunde e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Enya &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
