Erik

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten · 1 month

Erik is a young, lively and already particularly endearing kitten. He was rescued after being found abandoned when he was barely 1 month old... He was taken in by a Foster Family who cared for him and accompanied him so that he could grow up as normally as possible. As soon as he was able, he joined the house where a cat and a dog already reside. He quickly bonded with the cat, with whom he loves to spend time! He follows her, plays with her and seeks her presence. Interactions with her occupy an important place in his daily life and are particularly important for Erik, who was separated very young from his mother and his siblings. The weaning period and the learning that accompanies it are essential to the development of a kitten. Coexistence with one or more other cats that are comfortable in their surroundings is therefore essential during the first months of his life, so that he can continue to benefit from interactions and learning specific to life among cats. Erik is a very playful and dynamic kitten. He loves to play and explore his environment, especially by climbing and taking to the heights! Like many cats, he will need games that allow him to expend his energy and reproduce his hunting behaviors: a healthy activity and particularly important for his balance. With humans, Erik is also very close. He enjoys cuddle time and naps nearby, and purrs like a motor when you pet him. He is also a real little clingy: he follows us on our moves and is curious about our activities. Erik is still a young kitten and has everything to discover. We are looking for a family who can offer him a daily life rich in interactions, games and discoveries, with one or more other cats already present!

FR·Show original

About Erik

What life with Erik looks like

Erik is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at ADPK - Association Des P in adpk association des p tits korrigans.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Erik, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Erik?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ADPK - Association Des P handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Erik on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Erik if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ADPK - Association Des P will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Erik already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Erik isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ADPK - Association Des P early rather than rehoming privately; they know Erik and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
