Kiyomi

Mixed Breed · Male

Kiyomi was rescued while she was asking for help and food on a balcony in a city residence. She was very timid and wouldn't let anyone approach her, so she had to be caught with special equipment to be treated, sterilized, and sheltered. It took time for Kiyomi to get used to living with humans, as she had only known the life of a stray cat and the survival instinct that made her afraid of humans because she perceived them as a potential danger. Today, Kiyomi has made a lot of progress! She is comfortable in her environment and curious! She likes to observe what we are doing, and if we don't try to touch or approach her, she easily settles down next to us unless we are less than a meter away. Kiyomi is comfortable enough to walk around and play with balls, she even carries her toys around the house. She sometimes purrs when we talk to her, but she purrs more with her other cat friends. Indeed, she still loves living with other cats: she purrs, rolls in front of them... we can see that it's important for her balance. The journey is not over, we think there will be other big steps towards humans! A cat is obviously not obligated to love caresses and want to be touched, but it is possible that a strong relationship built on respect for her consent will lead to her enjoying contact with her humans and asking for caresses. It is also possible that this will not happen, and we will have to accept it if that's the case. Given her progress, we believe she can now be adopted and continue her journey with her humans for life. We are therefore looking for a patient and committed family who will enjoy gaining small bits of trust and strengthening the relationship with Kiyomi on a daily basis: through play, sharing moments without contact at first, and then surely with contact later, when she is ready. It will be essential to have a home without access to the outside (and with a secure balcony if there is one) with one or more other cats already present. If you are in the process of adopting a second cat in the hope of a duo that gets along well, Kiyomi could be the cat you are looking for 🙂 She is very cool and playful with...

About Kiyomi

What life with Kiyomi looks like

Kiyomi is an adult mixed breed cat waiting at ADPK - Association Des P in adpk association des p tits korrigans.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kiyomi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kiyomi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ADPK - Association Des P handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kiyomi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kiyomi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ADPK - Association Des P will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Kiyomi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kiyomi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ADPK - Association Des P early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kiyomi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
