* EROL

Male · Senior · 12 years

Yes, right in front of the house door, in the middle of Germany, there are many animals in need! For example, there's EROL, the black cat who regularly visits the feeding station. He allows the familiar food dispenser to touch and stroke him, but keeps a safe distance from strangers. The neutered, dewormed, and vaccinated tomcat comes to the feeding station almost daily and even stays in the immediate vicinity. Egon is part of a group of homeless feeding station cats in the Hessian Vogelsberg region. Who will help us help them and sponsor Erol and Co.? Contact: ADOP Animal Welfare e.V. Email: Internet:______ Our animals are not for gift adoption but will be adopted for an adoption fee. Of course, we have the necessary expertise as per §11 Animal Protection Act (successful examination and approval by the veterinary office). ____________________________ We also take care of YOUR ANIMAL (cat, dog, etc.), if you have to give it up, and find it a loving, pre-screened new home. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

About * EROL

What life with * EROL looks like

* EROL is a senior cat waiting at Step by Paw e.V. in Germany.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting * EROL, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about * EROL?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Step by Paw e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw * EROL on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt * EROL if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Step by Paw e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is * EROL already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if * EROL isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Step by Paw e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know * EROL and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
