Estele appeared one day in December 2021 accompanied by her (probably) son Lui in a suburb of Huelva. The residents, who informed our friends about the two strays, suspected that Lui and Estele had previously lived on a finca whose owner had left the building to decay and the dogs living there to their fate. Fortunately, this fate led Estele and Lui directly into the hands of their rescuers - and not into the perrera! The approximately six-year-old (as of February 2022) Podenco with the fluffy fur was initially very shy towards people. She gets along well with other dogs, but she has had little contact with these two-legged beings in her life - and if so, her experiences were probably rather negative. However, the timid lady thawed relatively quickly and is now still reserved, but one may be optimistic that she will soon ask for more of these cuddles, which she already enjoys very carefully and hesitantly with big round eyes. As a breed type, Estela is a very quiet lady, who will certainly appreciate long walks one day, but she also finds a real lazy day on the couch just as enjoyable on rainy days. Ideally, an experienced only dog lives in the new home to help Estele with orientation, and children should be old enough that wild play is no longer the norm. According to our experience, Podencos need a spot next to a functioning radiator or in front of the tile stove once the temperature drops below 25°C. Our bat ears want to snuggle for at least six hours a day and are firmly convinced that the most comfortable place for them is on the couch. Some of our red noses, who have survived outdoors for years without problems in wind and weather, become real candy hearts in their new home, who can't go out without a thick coat in the rain or wind and especially not in snow and don't want to anyway. Often a real clown comes with the Podenco, who gives a smile every day - a broad one! Podencos are often associated with large prejudices, and yes, the Podenco often has a prey drive, but honestly - we actually have perfect family dogs here, who prove their superpowers while watching the sports show together, who entertain the children without complaining, whose eyes constantly sparkle with mischief, and who communicate better with their ears than most dogs with their whole body. Estele hopes for a future that makes her forget her past completely. Please, if you have a dog bed free, don't just scroll past, but think carefully whether our clumsy red nose might just be the right new best friend for you!.

Estele tauchte eines Tages im Dezember 2021 in Begleitung ihres (vermutlich) Sohnes Lui in einem Vorort von Huelva auf. Die Anwohner, die unsere Freunde über die beiden Streuner informierten, vermuteten, dass Lui und Estele zuvor auf einer Finca gelebt hatten, deren Besitzer das Gebäude dem Verfall und die dort lebenden Hunde ihrem Schicksal überlassen hatte. Gut, dass eben dieses Schicksal Estele und Lui geradewegs in die Hände ihrer Retter führte- und nicht in die Perrera! Die ca. sechs Jahre alte (Stand Februar 2022) Podenca mit dem Fusselfell war anfangs äußerst schüchtern gegenüber Menschen. Mit anderen Hunden weiß sie umzugehen, aber mit diesen Zweibeinern hat sie in ihrem bisherigen Leben wenig zu tun gehabt- und wenn, dann waren ihre Erfahrungen wohl eher negativ. Relativ schnell taute die ängstliche Lady jedoch auf und ist nun zwar immernoch zurückhaltend, aber man darf optimistisch sein, dass sie ganz bald mehr von diesen Streicheleinheiten fordern wird, die sie jetzt schon gaaaaaaaanz vorsichtig und zaghaft mit großen Kulleraugen genießt. Rassetypisch ist Estela eine sehr ruhige Dame, die sicherlich eines Tages ausgiebige Spaziergänge zu schätzen wissen wird, jedoch bei Regenwetter genauso viel Gefallen an einem echten Faulenzertag auf der Couch findet. Idealerweise wohnt ein souveränder Ersthund im neuen Zuhause, um Estele die Orientierung zu erleichtern und Kinder sollten in einem Alter sein, in dem wildes Toben nicht mehr an der Tagesordnung ist. Podencos brauchen unserer Erfahrung nach einen Platz an einem funktionierenden Heizkörper oder vor dem Kachelofen, sobald die Temperatur unter 25°C fällt. Unsere Fledermausohren wollen mindestens sechs Stunden am Tag kuscheln und sind der festen Überzeugung, dass ihnen der bequemste Platz auf der Couch zusteht. Einige unserer Rotnasen, die jahrelang bei Wind und Wetter problemlos draußen überlebt haben, werden im neuen Zuhause zu echten Zuckerpüppchen, die bei Regen oder Wind und vor allem bei Schnee nicht ohne dicken Mantel rausgehen können und schon gar nicht wollen. Mit dem Podenco zieht oft ein echter Clown ein, der jeden Tag ein Lächeln verschenkt – ein breites! Podencos sind mit großen Vorurteilen behaftet, und ja, der Podenco hat oft Jagdtrieb, aber mal ehrlich – eigentlich haben wir hier perfekte Familienhunde, die ihre Superkräfte beim gemeinsamen Schauen der Sportschau beweisen, die ohne zu murren die Kinder bespaßen, denen ständig der Schalk aus den Augen blitzt und die mit ihren Ohren besser kommunizieren als die meisten Hunde mit ihrem ganzen Körper. Estele hofft auf eine Zukunft, die sie ihre Vergangenheit gänzlich vergessen lässt. Bitte, wenn Sie ein Körbchen frei haben, scrollen Sie nicht einfach weiter, sondern überlegen Sie gut, ob unsere fusselige Rotnase nicht vielleicht genau die richtige neue beste Freundin für Sie sein könnte!
