Esteso

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 4 months

Oh! Hardly sweeter! Awakened, full of playful joy and sprightly, the cuddly Esteso together with his brother Valentino shows himself. Esteso with his cute brown, sturdy legs, black back, white breaststripe, his sweet standing ears, and the pretty brown-black facial marking is a very cute puppy who already seems to stand confidently on all four paws in his life. So affectionate and playful he already looks as if he "wouldn't let the sausage be taken from the bread." A sweet little one who urgently needs a home where he can grow up protected and loved. Esteso and his brother Valentino are the result of an unwanted pregnancy of a Bodeguerohündin from the neighborhood of the animal shelter. As it often is with unwanted puppies, they were "offered" to the animal shelter to give them the chance to be adopted into a beautiful home. The alternative would have been to let them "wild" up with another neighbor, to then be left to survive outdoors, as often happens with dogs on the land in Spain. This was not an alternative for the animal shelter. So now, the two sweet "boys" are each searching for their loving forever home. Esteso is a Ratonero Bodeguero Andaluz mixed breed. The Ratonero Bodeguero Andaluz is also referred to as a "soft terrier": very clingy, loyal, friendly, cuddly, balanced, thus the perfect family dog. But it must not be forgotten that puppies need real and affectionate consistent training and only develop into family dogs. It is advantageous for a family if the children are not too young or already have some dog experience. Despite all cuteness, playfulness, attachment, Esteso still has much to learn to make the coexistence with the new human-dog team a success. It takes a lot of time, love, patience, and consistency… and it makes a lot of joy to witness the growing together. © 2006-2024 by animal welfare association Europa e.V.

Oha! © 2006-2024 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

About Esteso

What life with Esteso looks like

Esteso is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Esteso, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Esteso?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Esteso on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Esteso if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Esteso already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Esteso isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Esteso and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
