Adopt Evie

Female

Hi there! My name is Evie. My personality: I am new here at rain and the humans are still getting to know me. So far I can tell you that I am a quiet girl who is at first very shy, once I do feel comfortable around you I am super loving and adorable! My ideal home: I would love a quiet calm home, with a new family who have lots of time and patience to understand it may take some time for me to adjust to my new life. With me being very loving I am really looking for someone who has time to fuss me and give me plenty of love. The humans are unsure just yet if I would like any animal friends, they also say I would be happier living with children who are older. Access to outdoors: I am a shy girl and could be happy being an indoor-only cat, but I wouldn’t mind having the option to be outdoors if you had a nice safe surrounding area. Toileting: I am litter-trained, I currently use either wood or grit litter. Did you know: Tabby cats enjoy the company of humans and usually spend most of their time in the same room as their owner. My adoption fee is: £125

About Evie

What life with Evie looks like

Evie is a adult cat waiting at Rain Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Evie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Evie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rain Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Evie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Evie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rain Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Evie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Evie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rain Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Evie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
