Ewya

Belgian Malinois · Female · Young · 1 year

Ewya is looking for a fresh start. Ewya came to the animal shelter in a sad way: she was simply thrown over the fence. Therefore, we know nothing about her past - we don't know where she comes from, what she has experienced or why someone so anonymously got rid of her. What we do see, however, is an absolutely lovable, open female dog who is very approachable towards people. At the animal shelter, Ewya shows herself as a kind and easygoing female dog who has quickly crept into everyone's hearts. She seeks the company of her caretakers, likes to be petted and greets her surroundings politely. Since she has not been at the animal shelter for long, we are just getting to know her properly and cannot say much about her personality yet. As a Malinois mix, Ewya probably brings a good portion of energy, intelligence and enthusiasm for work, typical of the breed. Dogs of this type need not only exercise but also mental stimulation, clear structures and people who are willing to actively engage with their dog. At the same time, they need rest, security and reliable guidance in order to grow into balanced companions. Since we know nothing about her background, potential adopters should be prepared that education, daily routines and possibly even basic commands still have to be worked on. Patience, consistency and a loving approach are decisive here. For Ewya, we wish a home with people who want to take responsibility, take the breed seriously and give her the time to arrive at her own pace. An environment in which she can learn to trust and finally find peace. Ewya deserves the chance for a stable and dog-appropriate life full of love and care. Whoever gives her this opportunity will get a female dog that is ready to start anew and longs more than anything to become part of a family. Here is Ewya's video.

About Ewya

What life with Ewya looks like

Ewya is a young adult belgian malinois dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ewya, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ewya?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ewya on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ewya if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ewya already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ewya isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ewya and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
