Externe Dobermann Attila

Doberman · Male · Adult · 7 years

ATTILA Attila is, in principle, a very dear and people-oriented dog who greatly enjoys the visits of his dog walkers and generous cuddle sessions. He finds it wonderful to play with his human and spend time together. During cuddles, he snuggles very close to the human, and if a ball is added to the play, Attila could hardly be more exuberant and happy. Attila enjoys learning new tricks and finds it great when his human engages with him, whether through clicker training, long walks, or playing in the yard or on the field. Unfortunately, this treasure also carries a package and has had little upbringing in his previous life, showing no boundaries. Dog interactions are also foreign to Attila. While Attila securely and problemlessly masters the basic commands, his leash handling, frustration tolerance, and impulse control are intensively worked on. Especially when a foreign dog appears in the vicinity, Attila reacts strongly, and depending on the situation, he may also direct his behavior towards his human. Attila does not do this out of malice but is helpless in these moments and does not know how to behave differently. Because he has never learned. In the animal shelter, Attila is slowly getting used to other dogs and has already managed to walk beside confident dogs on the leash. Attila also had his first nose-to-nose contact, where he behaved awkwardly but still friendly. Attila has strength, power, and energy that we want to guide into good channels together with him. His future home should offer Attila security and stability. Attila desires mental stimulation and cuddle sessions but also a confident handling and the affectionate display of boundaries. Potential owners should be aware that Attila needs regular training to navigate daily life confidently and securely. A garden would naturally be beneficial for this large, busy dog. We are looking for a home for Attila without children. Experience and knowledge with dogs should definitely be present. Attila is not a beginner dog. Note: Descriptions are snapshots of the animal in our animal shelter. Each animal can develop differently in its new home.

About Externe Dobermann Attila

What life with Externe Dobermann Attila looks like

Externe Dobermann Attila is a large adult doberman dog waiting at Dobermann-Nothilfe Mudersbach in Mudersbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Externe Dobermann Attila, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Externe Dobermann Attila?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dobermann-Nothilfe Mudersbach handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Externe Dobermann Attila on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Externe Dobermann Attila if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dobermann-Nothilfe Mudersbach will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Externe Dobermann Attila already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Externe Dobermann Attila isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dobermann-Nothilfe Mudersbach early rather than rehoming privately; they know Externe Dobermann Attila and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
