Externe Dobermann Loki

Doberman · Male

Hagenau – France LOKI❤️ A loving and intelligent Dobermann full of energy, seeks suitable people with the same qualities ✨ 🐶 **His story:** Loki was found tied to a tree in a forest in Hagenau, seemingly abandoned to die. We do not know his past. He has a German chip and responds to commands in German, so we believe he did not come from a French family. He has been at the animal shelter for almost 8 months, mainly due to health isolation requirements. 🐶 **Character:** Loki is naturally friendly with people. He loves doing things for his person to get cuddles (leckerlis and toys hold little value for him). He loves being stroked; his sometimes rather assertive behavior can make him a bit pushy. Loki is obedient. However, during dog encounters, he struggles to regulate his emotions… here, he uses his intelligence to negotiate commands with his person. He knows he is strong and likes to use this to get what he wants when his owner doesn’t set boundaries. Therefore, we are looking exclusively for dog or breed-experienced people for Loki! 🐶 Loki does not react to cars, bicycles, joggers, or roller skaters. He shows interest in children, but not aggressively. Despite his size and strength, we still seek a home without children for Loki. 🐶 We are looking for active people without children and without other dogs. Loki’s home should have experience with large, powerful dogs. Loki was fortunate enough to be accompanied by Alix, an experienced dog trainer. After several training sessions, Alix is convinced that Loki is ready for adoption. 🐾 Who would like to meet our handsome boy and give him the chance at a home where he will finally be loved? He has earned it so much 🤍 For serious inquiries, please contact Mrs. Neumaier at the Helferkreis animal shelter Hagenau: (preferably via WhatsApp)

About Externe Dobermann Loki

What life with Externe Dobermann Loki looks like

Externe Dobermann Loki is a large adult doberman dog waiting at Dobermann-Nothilfe Mudersbach in Mudersbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Externe Dobermann Loki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Externe Dobermann Loki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dobermann-Nothilfe Mudersbach handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Externe Dobermann Loki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Externe Dobermann Loki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dobermann-Nothilfe Mudersbach will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Externe Dobermann Loki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Externe Dobermann Loki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dobermann-Nothilfe Mudersbach early rather than rehoming privately; they know Externe Dobermann Loki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
