Fabia

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Fabia was sadly dumped with her siblings when she was still very young and was thankfully rescued and taken into care, where she has been able to grow into the happy, affectionate puppy she is today. Fabia is a sweet, friendly girl with a lovely nature. She enjoys being around people and is always happy to receive some attention and affection. She has a playful, sociable personality and loves being part of whatever is going on around her. Fabia is expected to grow to approximately Spaniel size when fully grown. She is one of the smaller and calmer puppies in her litter, making her a lovely little companion for a family looking for a gentle but playful young dog. From one of her carers after her 1st trip out to the village. “Fábia: She’s easygoing, good-natured and adorable. 🥰 She did great in the car – relaxed and napped. We strolled around Ferragudo for a while. She was a bit nervous – but mostly she was curious about everything, stopping to scope things out and taking it all in. She stayed close, making eye contact and following my lead. But the more we walked, the more relaxed she got. She was great with people – so many stopped to meet her and she loved the attention. Didn’t see any dogs or cats. After that, she relaxed indoors and played with toys. She was calm and followed me around. She likes to be close – very affectionate and cuddly. 🤗 She took a long nap before heading back.” Like any young rescue puppy, Fabia will need patience, guidance and continued training as she settles into her new home and learns all about the world. With love, consistency and plenty of positive experiences, she has every potential to grow into a wonderful family companion. Fabia will arrive fully vaccinated and with comprehensive health checks, including: Most of our dogs have been found abandoned as young pups, discarded as unwanted litters, as is often the case in Portugal where neutering is not as common as in the UK. After rescue, all of our pups spend time in private shelters and foster homes, meaning they arrive happy, healthy and well socialised. UK Registered Charity Number 1183775

About Fabia

What life with Fabia looks like

Fabia is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Dogs N Homes Rescue in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fabia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fabia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs N Homes Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fabia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fabia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs N Homes Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fabia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fabia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs N Homes Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fabia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
