Adopt Falco

Bull Terrier · Male · 3 years

Energetic Challenge Rasse: Bullterrier-mixed breed Geburtsdatum: Okt. 2021 Größe: knapp über kniehoch Mit Hunden verträglich: nein Kinder im selben Haushalt: nein Zuhause gesucht: am ruhigen Stadtrand oder Land The energetic Bullterrier-mixed-breed male dog Falco has lived in a house with a garden in the countryside and originally came from abroad. His last home was a childless household. Falco is house-trained, could also stay alone for longer periods in his last home, and knows the basic commands. According to his previous owner, the lively male dog is compatible with female dogs, but at our shelter, he shows very reactive behavior towards other dogs, regardless of their gender. Falco needs a getting-to-know phase with people to build trust. He wants to be kept busy in his future home, with dummy training or something similar. It could be that a Malinois was mixed in with the Bulli. Falco goes calmly on the leash (except during dog encounters, where appropriate rest training during encounters is currently being started). Since new owners were already being sought in his last home, an unexpected child entered the garden, resulting in a bite incident with a minor injury, likely due to territorial behavior. For Falco, we are looking for a home in a quiet suburb or countryside, with people who are willing to grow together with their four-legged friend and have sufficient time to keep him meaningfully occupied and prevent further behavioral issues.

About Falco

What life with Falco looks like

Falco is a medium-sized adult bull terrier dog waiting at Tierschutz Austria in Vienna.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Falco, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Falco?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz Austria handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Falco on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Falco if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz Austria will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Falco already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Falco isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz Austria early rather than rehoming privately; they know Falco and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
