Adopt Simba

Bull Terrier · Male · Adult · 3 years

Meet handsome Simba, a 3-year-old English Bull Terrier with a huge personality and an even bigger heart! This lovable lad is full of energy, character, and enthusiasm for life, and he’s looking for a patient and understanding home that can help him continue learning all about the world around him.Simba is a very clever boy who already knows a range of commands and absolutely loves his food, making training a fantastic way to bond with him. He’s always on the go and thrives when his busy brain is kept occupied with fun training, enrichment, and plenty of exercise. Like many Bull Terriers, Simba can be wonderfully goofy and affectionate, and while he may have a big bark at times, it’s quickly followed by even bigger cuddles!Although Simba is making lovely progress, he’s still learning how to feel comfortable around other dogs and would prefer to be the only pet in the home for now. His adopters will need to continue his positive training and confidence building around other dogs, and our behaviour team will provide a training session before he heads home to help set everyone up for success.Simba can be very bouncy and excitable when he’s having fun and doesn’t always realise his own size and strength, so he’s looking for an adult-only home or one with sensible older teenagers. He’s also unable to live with cats or small animals due to his chase instincts. This special boy hasn’t had the easiest start in life and is still learning how to settle when left alone, so he’ll need a home where someone is around for most of the day while he builds confidence with this. In return, Simba offers endless love, loyalty, and plenty of entertaining Bull Terrier antics to keep his family smiling. With patience, kindness, and ongoing guidance, Simba will make an incredibly rewarding companion for the right home.

About Simba

What life with Simba looks like

Simba is a extra-large adult bull terrier dog waiting at RSPCA Cornwall Branch in Saint Columb.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Simba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Simba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Cornwall Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Simba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Simba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Cornwall Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Simba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Simba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Cornwall Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Simba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
