Falkor

Male · Young · 2 years

Falkor, young, sensitive dog is looking for a stable home. Falkor is only two years old and has his whole life ahead of him. He came to the animal shelter scared, with a baggage of difficult experiences. This is a dog who really needs stabilization and predictability in daily life. Falkor despite bad experiences kept a good spirit and quickly opens up to new people who show him that contact with humans is pleasant and he doesn't have to do anything to deserve human sympathy. In the animal shelter Falkor suffers, finds comfort in toys, found sticks from walks, which help him deal with a difficult environment, constant noise and too few walks for such a young dog. We are looking for a home for Falkor in a quiet, peaceful area, preferably with access to good walking areas, away from the city hustle. Not suitable for a home with children - he needs space, understanding and adult caregivers who will provide him with a sense of security and a consistent daily routine. Falkor is waiting for someone who will give him a chance for a fresh start. This is a sensitive dog who will flourish in the right hands.

Falkor, młody, wrażliwy pies szuka stabilnego domu Falkor ma zaledwie dwa lata i całe życie jeszcze przed sobą. Do schroniska trafił przestraszony, z bagażem trudnych doświadczeń. To wrażliwy pies, który w odpowiednich rękach rozkwitnie.

About Falkor

What life with Falkor looks like

Falkor is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires quiet environment, needs experienced handlers due to past trauma, not suitable for families with children

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Falkor, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Falkor?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Falkor on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Falkor if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Falkor already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Falkor isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Falkor and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
