Adopt Faraon

Mixed Breed · Unknown

I am Faraon. I am a small dog, supposedly born in 2013... although I no longer count my years, only moments. I have ended up at the animal shelter five times. Each time, my owners took me back, but it seems that history likes to repeat itself. I was first found in November 2020 in Dubiela Park. Then, in July 2024, I was walking on a leash, until someone brought me to the Młynarscy Veterinary Center. In May 2025 I was tied up under the Kaufland store on Al. Korfantego... and recently I ended up again near the store. I already have quite a few adventures behind me, right? I have a rather enigmatic character - not everyone understands me right away. I approach other dogs selectively. I accept some, and I prefer to avoid others with a wide arc. But when I'm alone and get my favorite treat... well, you might get the impression that the whole world starts dancing for me. Just please - don't watch me then, because I get a little embarrassed. :) I am also a dog who can clearly and loudly say when something doesn't suit me. I don't like when people do things around me that I don't want. That's why dear veterinarians... be careful! I'm looking for someone who will understand me, respect my limits, and show me that I won't have to return to the animal shelter again.

Do schroniska trafiłem aż pięć razy. Do innych psów podchodzę wybiórczo.

About Faraon

What life with Faraon looks like

Faraon is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Faraon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Faraon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Faraon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Faraon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Faraon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Faraon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Faraon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
