Adopt Faru (Vermittlungshilfe)

Male · Adult · 5 years

Vermittlungshilfe for TSV Hundeleben-Saar e.V. - Faru lives currently in a pension in Großrosseln. Faru is a large black snuggle bear and always shows a good mood in his pension. He loves to snuggle and enjoys the company of his people. At the same time, Faru is a very independent character who likes to keep himself occupied and find tasks. He is an active young dog who loves to play and run around. Faru wants to be kept busy and challenged, and a task like watching a yard or an area would be great for him. Also, attending dog training classes to learn the basics of being a small dog would be advisable. Faru is house-trained and enjoys car rides. He can be left alone for 3-4 hours. Faru is food-aggressive, but this is not a problem with individual feeding and a feeding routine. With other dogs, Faru is compatible. He likes to play and run around with them. In his new home, due to his food-aggressiveness, there should be no children present. Faru is a sweet charmer and despite his very loving nature, he needs clear boundaries to orient himself. Otherwise, he will start to assert his own will. Therefore, Faru is looking for dog-experienced people who can give him the boundaries and structure he needs. Then he will be a great animal companion. Whoever wants to support Faru or one of our other shelter dogs, we are very grateful! Or via PayPal:

About Faru (Vermittlungshilfe)

What life with Faru (Vermittlungshilfe) looks like

Faru (Vermittlungshilfe) is a large adult dog waiting at Streetdogs Madeira e.V. in Illingen.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Faru (Vermittlungshilfe), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Faru (Vermittlungshilfe)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Streetdogs Madeira e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Faru (Vermittlungshilfe) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Faru (Vermittlungshilfe) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Streetdogs Madeira e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Faru (Vermittlungshilfe) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Faru (Vermittlungshilfe) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Streetdogs Madeira e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Faru (Vermittlungshilfe) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
