Feixe

Mixed Breed · Unknown

A month ago we posted his photo, hoping to find his family. He arrived injured and broken, and we thought he had gotten lost and that his wounds were the result of being bitten by another dog. We were wrong about everything. That family we were waiting for will never appear... because they were his executioners. Today we can confirm the horror. It wasn't bites: they tried to end his life. They gave him a brutal blow to the head that left him blind (at least in one eye). He has multiple pellets embedded in his mouth and we will check if he has more on his body. No one is looking for him. Those who should have protected him tried to kill him. To the monsters who did this to him, and to the accomplices who know it and keep silent (neighbors, friends, family, etc.) we wish you the worst of futures. The abuse and silence define you. But here your power over him ends. Feixe has already started living for real. He is now safe, he knows that we care about him and that no one will ever lay a hand on him again. We have to do the hardest and most beautiful part: heal his broken heart. It hurts more than the blows themselves, but he will overcome it. The true justice for Feixe will come on the day he finds a forever home. He needs a family that gives back his faith in humans and gives him the love he should have always had. If you want to be the one who puts the icing on his new life, call us. Adoption phone: 692 87 19 84

About Feixe

What life with Feixe looks like

Feixe is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Aloia Protectora in Tui.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Feixe, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Feixe?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aloia Protectora handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Feixe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Feixe if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aloia Protectora will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Feixe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Feixe isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aloia Protectora early rather than rehoming privately; they know Feixe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
