Felek

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 12 years

Polish English German Felek asks for a moment of your attention. Although he’s rather elderly, he still strides confidently ahead, happily wagging his tail and eagerly seeking affection. During walks, he finds time both to explore and to interact with people, seemingly completely oblivious to the limitations that often come with old age. He remains curious about the world and is looking for someone who will show him new places and shower him with love. Felusia could be described as a truly versatile dog—equally comfortable on the couch or on hiking trails. He’s easygoing, showing neither aggression toward people nor toward other dogs. Everyone has their own preferences, but for many, this gentleman would prove to be an ideal companion! Felek isn’t afraid of his surroundings, and although dogs on walks do catch his attention, it’s curiosity rather than aggression, so there’s a good chance he’d get along well with another canine companion. He’d happily live in a home with children—as long as they respect his boundaries—but we’re not sure how he’d react to cats. Given his overall temperament, though, it’s definitely worth giving him a try. Felek is around 12 years old. He’s a small dog weighing 14 kg, though he could still stand to lose a few more pounds. He’s been neutered and vaccinated. He’s waiting for his person at the shelter in Choszczno! If you’d like to meet Felek, please contact our volunteer at 530 926 735. If you’d like to help this dog but can’t adopt him, we’d love to have you join us for walks! From Tuesday to Sunday, during the hours . polski English Deutsch O chwilę uwagi prosi Felek. Został wykastrowany i zaszczepiony. Czeka na swojego człowieka w schronisku w Choszcznie! About Felek

What life with Felek looks like

Felek is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Choszczno in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Felek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Felek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Choszczno handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Felek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Felek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Choszczno will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Felek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Felek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Choszczno early rather than rehoming privately; they know Felek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
