Felicia

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Felicia is looking for her "forever spot". Felicia was allowed to leave the Spanish animal shelter and the young dog now lives in a foster home in Germany. There she can rest and gradually explore and discover her new living environment. The lovely Felicia needs her time to build trust and open up. Since the dog enjoys eating, this need can be well used for building trust. Felicia has a calm nature. She gets along very well with the other dogs at the foster home. Felicia also shows a respectful way of dealing with cats. Felicia really likes older children who can accept that she doesn't want to be pressured. Felicia currently doesn't enjoy walks as much, preferring to circle around in the securely fenced garden. Her future home will have to continue working with Felicia continuously. Also, going by car is not yet one of her favorite activities. Currently, traveling by car causes an increased stress level in the dog. However, she calms down after a while. More practice will be necessary here as well. Felicia is happy when she can lie in the basket together with the other dogs. We are now looking for a final and loving home for Felicia. This should be located in a rural area and have a securely fenced garden. Her future family should want to positively support and accompany Felicia in all her further developmental stages. Felicia wishes for people by her side who can tackle all challenges of a new dog life together with her and offer the dog security and structure. Since Felicia feels very comfortable living with other dogs, there should be at least one dog friend waiting for Felicia in her future home. If you have a big heart for Felicia and want to reliably give her a shared future, we look forward to your inquiry. Adopting a shelter dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also become a challenge. The dogs bring along a backpack of past experiences or unlearned situations and need time to adjust to their new life. If you have a serious interest in adopting Felicia and there is already a caring basket waiting for the young dog, please contact the responsible adoption officer of SALVA Dog Help. The contact details are listed below. Here is Felicia's video.

About Felicia

What life with Felicia looks like

Felicia is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Felicia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Felicia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Felicia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Felicia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Felicia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Felicia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Felicia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
