Felix

Male Β· Young Β· 1 year

Felix is a young mixed-breed dog, born on February 8, 2025. He and his sister Nova grew up in Turkey. As puppies, they lived with their siblings in a garden with someone who couldn't properly care for them. Eventually, a foundation took the pups in. There, they grew up in a large shelter with about 500 other dogs. Felix spent most of his young life in the shelter, so he hasn't had much exposure to the outside world. After coming to the Netherlands, Felix came to us. What immediately stood out was how easily he let himself be guided. He allowed himself to be touched, leashed, and taken without any problems. He also walked nicely on a leash outside and didn't have any issues getting into the car. We're teaching him more about the world step by step. He still needs to gain many new experiences, but that doesn't have to be a big project. Felix is a very accessible dog who easily adapts to everyday life. What we love about him is his calm and friendly nature. He is extremely social with people, children, and other dogs. He can also be placed with cats. He lets himself be easily touched and enjoys contact with people. Compared to his sister Nova, Felix is slightly larger, but also more relaxed. He is a true people's dog who doesn't need much fuss. Felix can be placed as a single dog, but a stable, social dog as a housemate is also a possibility. We deliberately don't place Felix and Nova together. When two pups from the same litter grow up together, there is a chance of the so-called Littermate Syndrome. In this case, the dogs can become so focused on each other that they become less independent, develop less without each other, or have trouble building their own bond with their environment and their people. Therefore, we think it's important that Felix and Nova both have the space to develop independently and build their own lives. We are looking for someone who would like to explore the world with Felix and guide him further in everything life has to offer. He has a good foundation and is open to contact and new experiences. With clear, positive guidance, he can develop into a great housemate. Training together, learning new things, and gradually letting him experience more, suits him very well. Are you looking for a sweet, calm, and social dog who can easily be guided and with whom you can discover the world together? Then Felix might just be the right fit for you. Important characteristics of Felix are: Energy level: High Intelligence: Average Self-confidence: Average Self-awareness: Average Persistence: Average It is important that you score higher than or equal to the dog you want to adopt in the characteristics, to ensure that a suitable match can be made. About Felix

What life with Felix looks like

Felix is a large young adult dog waiting at Stichting Animals Faith in Netherlands.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible β€” a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡³πŸ‡±Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Felix, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Felix?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Animals Faith handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Felix on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Felix if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Stichting Animals Faith will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Felix already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Felix isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Animals Faith early rather than rehoming privately; they know Felix and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
