adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Felix has found his home! His story: Felix was found together with his brother Moritz in the winter on the street in Romania. Alone, exposed to the icy temperatures without protection. Our animal welfare workers found the two completely shaken and decided to take the two tiger brothers in. So Felix is waiting in a Romanian foster home for his 2nd chance: a family of his own! Felix needed something to make the rescue mission possible and was initially very shy and didn't quite know what was going on here. But the young tomcat has adapted quite quickly and shows himself to be a model apartment cat. He has integrated into the existing group very quickly and adapted to the other cats. In this regard, he is definitely a model student 🙂 Since his companionship has also given him courage, we do not want to place him in single housing. Age-appropriately, he will still enjoy playing, and who better to play with than a fellow companion? If no cat is waiting for Felix at your place, he will happily take one of his friends on the journey to the new home. Toward humans, Felix is usually still unsure. Quite likely, he has never had contact with humans before. That seems completely foreign to him 🙁 Nevertheless, Felix is making progress. Since Felix is still very young, we are almost certain that he will become a cheerful nature in the presence of humans. However, it is expected that for the first time, Felix will hide and need some time to adapt to the new environment. Even though Felix currently appears more quiet, we assume that after a while in the new home, he will reach the energy of a young silken paw. Due to his nature and background, we only place Felix as a pure apartment cat. He definitely has no interest in a balcony with a good safety feature.

About Felix

What life with Felix looks like

Felix is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Felix, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Felix?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Felix on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Felix if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Felix already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Felix isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Felix and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
