Adopt Fellgunde

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Young · 1 year

The sweet Fellgunde came to us at our shelter, as her previous owners could no longer care for her. Here, she shows herself to be an independent, loving female cat who enjoys the attention of people. Most of the time, she lies in her favorite hiding spots, but she is always available for cuddles. Quick movements and loud noises quickly scare Fellgunde. In such situations, she quickly retreats to a den. Once she realizes everything is okay, she comes out again. As Fellgunde is a rather shy cat, we will not be placing her with small children or dogs. Older, calmer children should not be a problem for her. The sweet female cat also gets along well with other cats. Therefore, we would be happy if she could move to a quiet, social second cat or be adopted together with this breed. The two have gotten to know each other at the animal shelter and often spend time together, whether sleeping in a box or demanding cuddles. Fellgunde has not yet experienced life as an outdoor cat. As she is, however, a curious, young cat, we do not want to deny her this possibility. Therefore, we are looking for a home for the sweet lady with a rural outdoor access.

About Fellgunde

What life with Fellgunde looks like

Fellgunde is a young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Zürcher Tierschutz in Zürich.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fellgunde, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fellgunde?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Zürcher Tierschutz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fellgunde on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fellgunde if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Zürcher Tierschutz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fellgunde already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fellgunde isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Zürcher Tierschutz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fellgunde and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
