Fermin

Male · Adult · 8 years

Fermina can be met and adopted at the "Ochota for a Cat" point, located on Ochota in Warsaw. Our little Fermine needed a moment to come out of his hiding spot. Once he mustered the courage to interact with us, he revealed himself as a wonderful, delicate kitten who loves to lie on his hammock in the room and adores being stroked on his belly. Fermina’s transformation deeply touches us, especially since when he arrived at our shelter, he had the saddest expression on his face in the world. Now he is beginning to rediscover joy and feels more secure. He also shows a more playful side—being a kitten who absolutely loves playing with a toy. This shared playtime is one of the keys to building a relationship with Fermina, who truly enjoys being close to humans. Another asset of Fermina is that he loves the company of other cats. As soon as he sees a feline friend, he starts chirping, meowing, and chattering to him in his own way. He eagerly invites other cats to join in the play and interaction. Fermin simply needs a little time to build trust and realize that he is safe. We are looking for someone to give Fermina that moment. We guarantee that he will be an excellent feline friend.

Chętnie zaprasza inne koty do wspólnej zabawy i interakcji. About Fermin

What life with Fermin looks like

Fermin is a small adult cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Note from the shelter: Requires patient, experienced owner willing to respect boundaries and allow gradual socialization

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fermin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fermin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fermin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fermin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fermin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fermin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fermin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
