Fetek

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Fetek – little charmer with big dreams. Fetek – a small heartbreaker with soft button eyes, fluffy black fur and a look that makes you smile. We don't know how Fetek and his siblings came into the world and why no one wanted to keep them. They were probably given up at a shelter shortly after birth. The staff there were worried that the little ones wouldn't have a chance without intensive care. So they asked our animal welfare partner Kristina for help. Kristina runs a shelter in Croatia – and of course she said yes. She took all the puppies in, raised them with lots of love and gave them the start in life that every puppy deserves. Today Fetek is ready to write his own happy ending. From September, the little man will be able to travel to his forever home. At the moment, Fetek is exactly what a puppy should be: curious, playful and full of a desire to explore. Sometimes he'll be tearing around, sometimes cuddling, sometimes exploring the world with great courage – and if it all gets too much, he'll just fall into a puppy sleep in the middle of the adventure. As a Croatian Shepherd mix, Fetek brings not only a lot of charm, but also a clever head. Now he can grow up in peace and get to know the world. When he's grown up, he'll be happy if his humans encourage him lovingly. Whether it's tracking, obedience, agility, driving ball or other joint activities – the main thing is that he gets to spend time with his favorite people and discover new things together. Fetek is looking for people who don't just want a cute puppy, but a loyal friend for life. People who laugh, learn, experience adventures with him and show him how beautiful a sheltered home can be. Maybe Fetek is just waiting for you – and his greatest adventure will begin soon in your arms. 🐾🖤 Interested in an adoption? (Click here)

About Fetek

What life with Fetek looks like

Fetek is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Nordic Strays e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fetek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fetek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nordic Strays e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fetek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fetek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nordic Strays e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fetek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fetek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nordic Strays e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fetek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
