Adopt FIDJI

Australian Shepherd · Male · Adult · 4 years

Abandoned: 10/04/2026 Breed: Australian Shepherd Gender: Male Microchip: 981100004897835 Born: 03/09/2021 Country: Belgium At the shelter since: 10/04/2026 FIDJI, a kind-hearted dog looking for an active and loving home FIDJI is a beautiful male Australian Shepherd, with a gentle gaze and communicative energy. Kind, sociable, and easygoing, he charms with his balanced temperament and great ability to adapt... provided his needs are respected. His best qualities FIDJI is a affectionate and confident dog. He enjoys human company, including that of children, with whom he is gentle and patient. He will find his place in a family while respecting quiet moments. He also gets along with small dogs, which can be a real plus. Things to note Like any Australian Shepherd, FIDJI has a real need to exercise, both physically and mentally. A sedentary lifestyle would not suit him. He cannot live in an apartment and absolutely needs a garden, as he has mainly lived outside so far. He does not get along with cats, and cohabitation with them is therefore not possible. His ideal home FIDJI is looking for a family: living in a house with a garden, ready to provide regular walks, activities, and attention, without cats, who love active dogs close to humans. Dynamic, loving, and responsible adopters will make FIDJI the happiest companion. FIDJI is waiting for you to write a new chapter in his life. If you think you can offer him the living environment he deserves, do not hesitate to contact us by phone. We will be delighted to talk to you about him and accompany you in this beautiful adventure that is adoption. For more information, please contact us ONLY by phone at 02 523 44 16.

About FIDJI

What life with FIDJI looks like

FIDJI is a adult australian shepherd dog waiting at Help Animals in Brussels.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting FIDJI, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about FIDJI?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Help Animals handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw FIDJI on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt FIDJI if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Help Animals will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is FIDJI already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if FIDJI isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Help Animals early rather than rehoming privately; they know FIDJI and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
