adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this dog! Fienchen has found her home! Her story: Wirbelwind Fienchen is on the lookout for an active family. This bundle of energy is full of joy. Currently, she lives in a local foster home where she enchants her foster family with her cheerful nature and has already wrapped them around her paws. Fienchen's life didn't start so cheerfully. She was born on a farm. Our animal welfare workers pleaded with the farmer to have her mother spayed, but he refused outright. They tried again and again. The puppies were in a terrible condition, with skin problems and were full of fleas. At least, we managed to de-worm the little ones. But then the other puppies were gone, and only the small Fienchen was given into their care. Fienchen is a very strong personality and extremely smart, but also very loving. Currently, she weighs 2.5 kg and will likely stay a small size. Due to her character traits, one should not be misled by her sweet appearance, which is further emphasized by her giant ears and playful fur patterns. Fienchen needs an active family that will support and challenge her so that her energy doesn't go astray. Some dog experience or the willingness to work with Fienchen should be present. Fienchen is still a baby and has a lot to learn. A little mishap shouldn't be held against her, and she should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. She is looking forward to her new life with beautiful nature walks, lots of snuggling, and also a visit to puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the little rascals' lives upside down. They "forget" much of what they have learned and their ears are on full blast. Therefore, it is especially important to consistently but lovingly train her during this phase. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Fienchen is eagerly awaiting an application. Once she has all her vaccinations, she can embark on her great journey. The little frolicsome Fienchen gets along well with other dogs; cats have not been tested yet. Fienchen travels microchipped, vaccinated, de-wormed, and flea-treated. She also has her EU pet passport in her luggage. Even a foster placement would be wonderful. Thank you to Fienchen's adopters! You have given the little lively Fienchen a very fitting name. Status: 14.06.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Danke an Fienchens Adoptanten ! Stand:14.06.2024

About Fienchen

What life with Fienchen looks like

Fienchen is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fienchen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fienchen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fienchen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fienchen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fienchen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fienchen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fienchen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
