How do I contact the shelter about Fiesta?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ÚVP Košice handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fiesta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Fiesta if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ÚVP Košice will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Fiesta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Fiesta isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ÚVP Košice early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fiesta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Fiesta

Mixed Breed · Female

Fiesta was found on Člnková 27 in Košice - Džungľa district. When she arrived at the shelter, she was very scared and afraid of almost everything. Despite her fear, she was not aggressive. She was dirty and had fleas. She gradually realized that she didn't have to be afraid anymore, and began to show her true puppy nature. Fiesta is a curious, sweet, and playful puppy who loves to explore the world around her. She enjoys human company, seeks human presence, and is happy with attention. She is still a small puppy who is just getting to know everyday life and is waiting for many new experiences. She needs patient and loving guidance, gradual socialization, and people who will show her new environments and situations so that she can build confidence and trust. Like any puppy, she needs a regular routine, exercise and games appropriate for her age, plenty of rest, and time devoted to her upbringing. What kind of female dog she will grow into will depend largely on the experiences and guidance she receives during her adolescence. She has not yet mastered her hygiene habits, which is natural given her age. With a regular routine, frequent walks, and patience, she will gradually learn them. Fiesta is looking for a home in an apartment or a family house with full indoor access. She needs people who are aware that adopting a puppy means not only a lot of joy, but also time, upbringing, patience, and daily care. Fiesta has her whole life ahead of her. After an uncertain start, she now needs her family, alongside whom she can safely grow, explore the world, and become a beloved part of her life. Cross-border transport is currently not possible due to ongoing veterinary procedures. VACCINATION: ongoing - expected completion 06.10.2026

About Fiesta

What life with Fiesta looks like

Fiesta is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at ÚVP Košice in Slovakia.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇰Adopting from Slovakia

Slovak rescue groups coordinate cross-border transport with European partners. Animals are chipped and vaccinated; sterilization is often included for adults and arranged post-adoption for puppies/kittens.
