Filek

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

Filek is a dog who, at the beginning of his stay in the shelter, was somewhat distanced and frightened due to fear. Once he met the volunteers, he opened up and showed his other side. He is outgoing, has a positive attitude towards life, loves treats, walks nicely on a leash. He enjoys rolling in the grass and playing with his box mates during walks. He's a young, cheerful dog. However, he needs some time to gain someone's trust and show himself from a friendly side. It would be best if he were adopted by an experienced home. He needs several introductory walks to get to know the person and trust them, but once he does, he will open up and pour all his love into the owner. Please note that you should handle him calmly and predictably. Society for the Protection of Animals in Poland Shelter for Homeless Animals in Wrocław 251-007 Wrocław ul. To młody, radosny psiak. Potrzebuje jednak chwili by zdobyć czyjeś zaufanie i pokazać się z przyjaznej strony. Najlepiej jeśli trafi do bardziej doświadczonego domu. About Filek

What life with Filek looks like

Filek is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Wrocław in Wrocław.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adopters usually cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Filek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Filek?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Wrocław handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Filek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Filek if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Wrocław will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Filek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Filek isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Wrocław early rather than rehoming privately; they know Filek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
