Filly

Collie · Female · Senior · 10 years

Filly – Sensible female dog sucht ruhiges und erfahrenes Zuhause Filly is a very sensitive and reserved female dog who needs time to build trust. In new situations, she becomes quickly unsettled, but she is playful and energetic in her familiar environment. We are looking for a quiet home with patient people who have experience dealing with insecure dogs. Important: Filly cannot be rehomed into a lively environment – busy main streets, bus stops, shops, or other highly frequented areas are not suitable for her. What makes me stand out: I am very finely tuned and observe my surroundings attentively. I need time, but when I feel safe, I am also happy and playful. I like to run, play in the garden, and enjoy relaxed walks in a quiet environment. I can form a close bond with a familiar primary caregiver. I appreciate routine and a reliable environment. What I still need to learn: To remain calm in new situations and rely on my primary caregiver. To better handle external stimuli, especially other dogs, which I cannot tolerate well when out. Gradually building trust with new people and environments. What I am looking for: A home in a very quiet residential area or rural surroundings. Ideally, a house with a securely fenced garden – alternatively, a very quiet apartment without a busy environment (not in the city center). I do not want any contact with children. Other dogs, cats, or small animals should not live in my new home. People with dog experience, patience, and empathy. A structured daily routine with few changing stimuli. Would you like to meet Filly? Then please contact her animal caretakers at the Idefix House or fill out the application form on our website, providing as much detail as possible. Please plan several visits so that Filly and you can build mutual trust. She looks forward to meeting people who greet her with calmness and understanding.

About Filly

What life with Filly looks like

Filly is a medium-sized senior collie dog waiting at Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg in Berlin.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Extremely sensitive dog requiring very quiet environment, no busy streets/shops nearby, needs extensive socialization work

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Filly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Filly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Filly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Filly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Filly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Filly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Filly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
