adoption requirements adoption process Inquire about this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Inquire about this dog now! Fin was rescued from the public shelter together with his sister. In this shelter, dogs are still being killed today, and Fin is one of the lucky ones who now has the chance at a hopefully long and happy dog's life. Fin is approx. 3 years old, and with a height of 35 cm and a weight of 7 kg, he is rather compact. Ideal for people looking for a slightly smaller dog. Fin gets along great with other dogs, which also gives him the opportunity to move into a family where he isn't the first and only four-legged member. At first, Fin is rather reserved and shy. He needs to build some trust first, but then his gentle and lovable character quickly shines through. Once he warms up a little, he happily accepts treats and also enjoys being petted and cuddled. Fin also means "the bright one" in Irish, and our dear little Fin not only has a light coat; his inner light shines brightly as soon as he feels comfortable and trusts. It's very likely that Fin has never experienced the warmth and security of a loving family. Accordingly, he still needs to learn what it's like to live in a home. Things like housebreaking, leash walking, or even riding in a car could still be completely new to him, even though adult dogs often surprise us positively when it comes to housebreaking. For Fin, we especially wish for empathetic and patient people. A family that lets him settle in first and takes it lightly if not everything works out right away. With these conditions, we have no doubt that Fin will develop into an indispensable family member. If you'd like Fin to bring light into your life as well, then please don't hesitate to get in touch. We would also be very happy about a foster home, so that gentle Fin can escape the loud and stressful shelter routine. Fin is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas, and will after positive Thank you, dear Daniele J., for this fitting name. Thanks to you, Fin can surely look forward to a happy future soon. Status: 03.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 03.05.2026

About Fin

What life with Fin looks like

Fin is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
