Finn Fiete

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

2 male Adoptable pets / rather apartment living Born 04 & 07/2019 EKH Neutered yes / [] no At the animal shelter since 22.03.2026 ________________________ We test every cat quickly for FIV (feline AIDS, information here!) and FeLV (feline leukemia, information here!) and inform about the status. We inform here about the risk of a FIP disease (peritonitis). ________________________ Finn and Fiete were reluctantly given up, as Fiete was unfortunately becoming more difficult with the young child in the family. They were placed with us as young tomcats in 2019. They are currently living at one of our foster homes in Marburg and can be visited there by appointment (contact through the animal shelter). They are very people-oriented, affectionate and lovable tomcats, enjoy being petted and stroked, and both are playful - but Fiete more than Finn, he is also generally a bit "more temperamental" and sensitive. Finn is a bit calmer and also wants to spend time with the person without being the center of attention. Fiete also likes to lie on his person, cuddle intensively and sleep like that. Finn has difficulty with closed doors and has also found out how to open them. As family cats in a quiet household with perhaps an older child in the teenage years they would be a good fit, but small children should not be part of the household or planned. Food is a big issue for both, especially for Finn, so you have to watch that they don't steal anything from the table or kitchen and that Finn doesn't eat everything Fiete has. Finn was very overweight a few years ago, which has improved significantly, but healthy food and exercise do him a lot of good. Fiete receives a low dose of cortisone because he has chronic intestinal problems, but he copes very well. His blood values are unremarkable. Both react to grain-containing food with diarrhea and should be given accordingly high-protein food. We are looking exclusively for a shared home for the two of them. They have known each other since they were little and behave just like brothers. Finn is the more dominant one, and during play fighting, he usually has the upper hand. But they enjoy spending time together and being together. They have always lived in pure apartment living, and lately over several floors, and on their foster home they also show that they are very curious and have a lot of exploring drive. Therefore, we wish them plenty of space and preferably a secure outdoor area (balcony, terrace) or free access in a very, very safe environment, to which they can slowly get used. We wish this wonderful pair a nice place with lots of love and care! ________________________ (as of 17.05.2026) Finn: gray tabby, Fiete: red tabby (click on the pictures to see them in full size!) The description reflects the current situation, changes or new assessments are reserved. It can always happen that an animal shows differently due to changed circumstances, both in the animal shelter and in the new home. About Finn Fiete

What life with Finn Fiete looks like

Finn Fiete is a extra-large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Marburg in Marburg.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Finn Fiete, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Finn Fiete?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Marburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Finn Fiete on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Finn Fiete if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Marburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Finn Fiete already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Finn Fiete isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Marburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Finn Fiete and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
