Adopt FJOMPEN

Mixed Breed · Unknown

FJOMPEN is a small, curious ram who is very interested in everything (Born May 25). He is very food motivated, playful and likes to be where the action is. He likes to lie on the sofa armrest for a back massage; then he purrs happily. At night, FJOMPEN likes to sleep in the closet, in the favorite chair or in his cage, but as soon as he hears someone waking up in the morning, he jumps into the bed for affection. When you finally get up, he follows you into the bathroom and carefully watches that you get ready for the day. He is good at entertaining himself, and currently his favorite toys are candles, used matches and lip balms. He is constantly looking for new culinary experiences and has recently developed an eye for olives. He is an aspiring hunter and likes to follow the birds outside the house. He often comes with a report of his findings with some funny sounds. When he came to the foster home, he was very shy, but after only one and a half months he has calmed down a bit, become more secure and started to take the initiative for affection. He hasn't reached the point where he lies in the corner and relaxes, but he will always be near his human. He has a little habit of biting if he feels that the affection comes too sudden. He can thus be experienced as a bit unpredictable and won't fit in a family with children. The biting has improved a lot in the foster home, and if you read Fjomp's language, it should go well. FJOMPEN will fit in a home without children, in a home that can offer plenty of nice outdoor areas so he can unfold himself in a rural and safe outdoor environment.

About FJOMPEN

What life with FJOMPEN looks like

FJOMPEN is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Dyrebeskyttelsen Bergen in Bergen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting FJOMPEN, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about FJOMPEN?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dyrebeskyttelsen Bergen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw FJOMPEN on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt FJOMPEN if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dyrebeskyttelsen Bergen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is FJOMPEN already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if FJOMPEN isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dyrebeskyttelsen Bergen early rather than rehoming privately; they know FJOMPEN and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
