Adopt Fleur available

German Shepherd · Female · Adult · 8 years

Hi everyone, I'm the beautiful Fleur and I am probably one of the most gentle dogs you will ever ever meet!I have the loveliest temperament with a really calm and peaceful manner. To be honest I am just a very chilled kind of lady who's looking for a similar kind of home - I know I wouldn't like anywhere with lots of noise or commotion as that can make me feel a bit worried. My favourite past time is sleeping......I can sleep for hours and I really enjoy being all snug, cosy and warm at home. If you need to go to work or leave me home alone sometimes, don't worry, I honestly won't mind, as I settle easily and am completely housetrained, so it just means I get some extra beauty sleep! For a larger sized dog I walk beautifully on my lead, so am a real joy to take out on walks.....which I love by the way. I have great recall skills too. I can be a little wary initially with new people but I am a very friendly girl who enjoys lots of fuss once I am comfortable, you could stroke me all day! I am good at meeting other dogs and generally only bark if they shout at me first. I travel really well in the car and will happily jump straight in all by myself so the world is our oyster. I haven't been living with a cat but because I am so chilled it may be a possibility.I am prone to itchy skin, and as of yet I don't know what causes it, but my vet has advised I try out a new type of food which will hopefully help me a bit. I have been to the grooming salon several times and am very happy to have a wash and blow dry! I am looking for a new home through the Home Direct Scheme, which means I will stay with my current owner until a suitable match is found. All meets will be done at the centre. So, If you have a big Flower shaped hole in your heart, and a space for me (and my big cosy bed of course) look no further, I look forward to meeting you xx NAWT Cornwall Wheal Alfred Kennels Wheal Alfred Road Hayle Cornwall TR27 5JT Choose an item from our Amazon wish-list and it will come straight to us! About Fleur available

What life with Fleur available looks like

Fleur available is a large adult german shepherd dog waiting at National Animal Welfare Trust in Watford.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fleur available, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fleur available?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. National Animal Welfare Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fleur available on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fleur available if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — National Animal Welfare Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fleur available already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fleur available isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with National Animal Welfare Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fleur available and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
