Fleur is a cat who immediately won our hearts when she arrived at our shelter. She was heavily pregnant, and her belly told us we wouldn't have to wait long for the arrival of her kittens. And indeed, a week and a half later, we woke up on a Sunday morning with the feeling: "We should check on Fleur." When we entered her room, we heard a soft mewling. There they were... the first two little miracles: Yaro and Gijsje. Not long after, Lexie and Bella joined them, and Fleur was suddenly the mother of four little kittens. But Fleur is so much more than just mom Fleur. She's a very social lady. She enjoys attention and loves it when someone sits with her. She likes to come and take a look and lets you know clearly when she needs some extra attention. And then of course there's her second great love... food! Fleur and food are two hands on one glove. In fact, with this hungry mom, even your own food is no longer completely safe. And do you think she's not interested because she's a few meters away? Think again. What we love about Fleur is that despite her role as mom, she's still very playful and youthful. She's still a kitten herself. Now that her four little ones are becoming more independent, she's more than happy to go on an adventure. She's curious, enterprising and wants to know what's going on around her. Meanwhile, she's already taught her kittens how fun life can be. Now it's time for Fleur to start her next chapter. We're looking for a warm and loving home for her where she can get plenty of attention, where her social character is valued, where she can be herself and where she definitely has a playmate. A home where she's no longer just "the mom of four"...

Sommige katten komen bij ons binnen en veroveren meteen een plekje in ons hart. Fleur is zo’n kat. Toen Fleur bij ons in opvang kwam, was ze hoogzwanger. Haar buikje verraadde dat we niet lang meer zouden moeten wachten op kleine pootjes… en inderdaad. Anderhalve week later werden we op een zondagochtend wakker met het gevoel: “We moeten toch eens bij Fleur gaan kijken.” Toen we haar kamertje binnenkwamen, hoorden we al een zacht gepiep. Daar lagen ze dan… de eerste twee kleine wondertjes: Yaro en Gijsje. Niet veel later kwamen ook Lexie en Bella erbij, en was Fleur plots mama van vier kleine kittens. Maar Fleur is intussen zoveel meer dan alleen mama Fleur. Ze is vooral een ontzettend sociale dame. Ze geniet van aandacht en vindt het heerlijk als er iemand bij haar zit. Ze komt graag een kijkje nemen en laat je duidelijk weten wanneer ze wat extra aandacht verdient. En dan is er natuurlijk nog haar tweede grote liefde… eten! Fleur en eten zijn twee handen op één buik. Sterker nog: bij deze hongerige mama is zelfs jouw eigen eten niet meer helemaal veilig. En denk je dat ze niet geïnteresseerd is omdat ze een paar meter verderop ligt? Denk maar opnieuw. Wat we zo mooi vinden aan Fleur, is dat ze ondanks haar rol als mama nog steeds heel speels en jeugdig is. Eigenlijk is ze zelf nog een kitten. Nu haar vier kleintjes steeds zelfstandiger worden, gaat ze maar al te graag mee op avontuur. Ze is nieuwsgierig, ondernemend en wil graag weten wat er rondom haar gebeurt. Ondertussen heeft ze haar kittens al geleerd hoe leuk het leven kan zijn. Nu is het tijd dat Fleur zelf aan haar volgende hoofdstuk begint. We zoeken voor haar een warm en liefdevol thuis waar ze volop aandacht mag krijgen, waar haar sociale karakter gewaardeerd wordt, waar ze helemaal zichzelf mag zijn en waar ze zeker een speelkameraadje heeft. Een thuis waar ze niet langer alleen “de mama van vier” is…
