Fleur

Female · Adult · 5 years

Meet Fleur, our beautiful Jack Russell Terrier! Fleur is a gentle and sensitive girl who is looking for a loving home where she can continue to build her confidence and discover the world at her own pace. Fleur arrived at Battersea as a stray, so we have no history of her previous life or how she may be in a home environment. Since arriving, she has shown herself to be worried by new people, handling and unfamiliar situations. However, with some time and patience, Fleur has really started to come out of her shell and is now showing us her sweet and affectionate side. Fleur is looking for owners who understand sensitive dogs and can give her the time and space she needs to settle into her new home. She would be best suited to living with teenagers aged 13+ who can understand when she needs some space and allow her to build a relationship with them at her own pace. Fleur is looking for a home away from the inner city and would love to have her own private garden, where she can enjoy some quiet time outdoors in a safe and familiar environment. Fleur will need to be the only dog in the home, but would enjoy some steady dog walking buddies to help build her confidence out and about. She may be able to live with a calm, dog-savvy cat following careful introductions. Fleur is ready to start her next chapter and find a home of her own. With the right support, patience and plenty of love, we are sure this sweet girl will continue to blossom into a confident, loyal and loving companion! About Fleur

What life with Fleur looks like

Fleur is a small adult dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fleur, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fleur?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fleur on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fleur if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fleur already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fleur isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fleur and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
