adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Flinti has found a home! His story: The beautiful Flinti with the lovely tri-color fur pattern, is about one year old and belongs to the dogs we were able to rescue from the last-minute kill shelter in Zalău. He had a lot of luck because there wasn't much time. There, it was already shown how much Flinti seeks contact with people. This people-seeking nature is one of his most beautiful qualities and makes him a particularly attentive companion. At the same time, it put him under great stress in the shelter. The noise, the cramped space, and the lack of attention have greatly stressed him. He cried a lot and was constantly on edge because he desperately wanted to be with people. His stress level was consistently very high. So much joy, when Flinti was allowed to travel to Germany to his own family at the end of January. Unfortunately, he arrived so unsettled that he could hardly find any peace. He was completely overwhelmed by all the new impressions. Unfortunately, he could not stay with his family and was placed in a pension in Salzwedel. There, he is worked with gently. His stress is reduced step by step, and he learns to relax. He has already adapted well and gets training and plenty of exercise every day. This does Flinti good, and he opens up more every day. With a shoulder height of about 53 cm and around 22 kg, Flinti brings a pleasant size. He is sporty enough for joint activities and can also lie relaxed on the sofa. His multicolored fur and the white paws, which look like little socks, give him a very special appearance. Probably a colorful mix of different breeds, visually and temperament-wise, he reminds us of a terrier mixed breed. For Flinti, we wish a home that gives him mainly peace, consistent routines, and both physical and mental stimulation. He is no dog who just walks along. He seeks real bonding and wants to be a firm part of his family. As he is currently in puberty, he needs clear structures and confident leadership. People who gently guide him and show him how a shared life works. Flinti wants to play, learn, and rediscover life with you! After a positive Flinti thanks Nicole K. for taking on the namesponsorship. As of: 15.03. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 15.03.2026

About Flinti

What life with Flinti looks like

Flinti is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Flinti, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Flinti?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Flinti on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Flinti if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Flinti already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Flinti isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Flinti and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
