Flor

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Flor – short-legged beauty on the lookout for the perfect long-legged bipeds! Our Flor came to the shelter with two other dogs, so we can't say much about her past. What we do know is that Flor hasn't had good experiences with people… Whatever Flor has gone through has caused her to be afraid of people… So, Flor is looking for people who can show her with lots of love and patience how wonderful it is to have her tummy rubbed 😊 Our Flor shows herself at the animal shelter as a quiet representative who enjoys the quiet and peace among the other dogs. She is a gentle soul who needs a lot of support and security to become braver, open up to people, and become the little sunbeam on four legs she has always been: a little sunbeam who only needs time and love to shine again! Flor gets along very well with other dogs; she likes to snuggle into the dog bed with her pen mates at night and enjoy the closeness. It would therefore be no problem if Flor's future family had a dominant only dog, which our little sweetie could orient herself to and learn to enjoy the closeness of people. Since Flor hasn't had good experiences with people so far, she needs a family where she can take her time to settle in, where she is allowed to make the occasional mistake, and people who wait for her to take the first step toward the kennel. Since Flor currently can't walk on a leash because her fear is too great, it would be advantageous if her future family had an enclosed yard directly connected to the living space, so that she can be taught in peace and with lots of love that walking on a leash isn't something to be afraid of. © 2006-2024 by animal welfare association Europa e.V.

© 2006-2024 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

About Flor

What life with Flor looks like

Flor is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Flor, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Flor?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Flor on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Flor if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Flor already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Flor isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Flor and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
