Flora

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Mixed breed Flora is looking for a loving forever home. The beautiful puppy Flora was taken in by our animal protection colleagues in Bulgaria along with her four siblings. Now the five puppies are safe. However, the shelter should only be a temporary solution for Flora - she longs for nothing more than a loving home. Flora is a sensitive and somewhat shy little dog. But with each day, she gains more confidence, warms up more, and dares to do more. Curious and brave, she begins to explore her surroundings, and also enjoys loving pats very much. With her siblings, she spends lively play and cuddle sessions and shows herself to be friendly and social. Flora gets along well with other dogs. For Flora, we are looking for patient and understanding people who allow her to arrive at her own pace in her new home and accompany her gently through new situations. Flora still needs to learn the basics of dog behavior - house training, being alone, car rides, and daily routines are still new for her. However, with loving, positive reinforcement and consistent, calm guidance, Flora will master these step by step. We are looking for people who are aware of what it means to accompany a puppy on its journey through life. Much time, patience, and empathy are especially important. Flora is an intelligent young dog who wants to please and enjoys learning together. A dog school, varied physical and mental exercise, and many loving cuddle moments will help her develop into a secure and loyal companion. Who is ready to give the beautiful Flora a loving home and accompany her on her way through life? Flora is waiting for her people. If you have a serious interest in adopting Flora, please contact the responsible adoption officer of SALVA Dog Help. We would also be very happy about the provision of a foster home. Here are Flora's videos 1 - Video 2.

About Flora

What life with Flora looks like

Flora is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Flora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Flora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Flora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Flora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Flora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Flora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Flora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
