Florek

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Florek is one of those dogs that immediately win your heart. A small, fluffy, ginger boy—with eyes full of curiosity and just a hint of uncertainty. He recently arrived at the shelter and is still learning that human hands can be safe. Once unleashed into the shelter’s yard, Florek reveals his brave, playful nature—striding proudly, sniffing every nook and cranny, and behaving like a little king. He’s absolutely wonderful when interacting with other dogs: friendly, open, and conflict-free. From the very first moment, he hit it off perfectly with Bora, a big, steady female dog—as if they’d known each other for years. Outside the shelter, things are a bit more challenging, but we believe that’s just a matter of time—short time, we’re sure. On his very first walk, Florek was carried in arms. There, he met several truly friendly dogs, and for a moment, it seemed as though he’d forgotten he was supposed to be afraid. He bravely made his way back to the shelter on his own two paws. The little guy is scheduled for an orthopedic consultation. Something’s definitely not right with his hind legs. We’ll be taking a closer look and taking action. We’re looking for a calm, understanding home for Florek—a place where he can blossom at his own pace. In return, this little ginger fellow will give you all the love and loyalty of a dog’s heart. If you’ve been dreaming of a friend who needs you right now, Florek is waiting for you.

PL·Show original

Będziemy sprawdzać i działać. Szukamy dla Florka domu spokojnego, wyrozumiałego, takiego, który pozwoli mu rozkwitnąć we własnym tempie. W zamian ten mały rudzielec odda całe swoje psie serduszko. Jeśli marzysz o przyjacielu, który potrzebuje właśnie Ciebie, Florek czeka.

About Florek

What life with Florek looks like

Florek is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Florek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Florek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Florek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Florek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Florek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Florek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Florek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
